To Aotearoa, with love

Good morning! I'm in such a pleasant mood today so I'm going to start my Monday with a posting on my trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud.

Sansan and I have been keeping mum about our honeymoon destination for personal reasons. We had chosen it before our wedding date but it was a tough decision. It was between London or Auckland - the former because Sansan wants to visit Old Trafford and the latter because it has been Dad's dream place to go. I know, what's the relation to that? I feel like I should go there first and scout for him, you know? Haha. I'm not entirely kidding though because part of it is definitely because of that but another part of it is because I've been eyeing New Zealand for an isolation getaway.

We were leaning more towards London because I love making my husband happy but then since I've been to London, we decided to go somewhere that both of us have never been to so yes, New Zealand it is! And that my friends, was one of the best decisions we have ever made - apart from marrying each other, of course ha ha.

It was an overwhelming experience for both of us. We loved everything about it. Everything! Oh, except for the weather in Christchurch. I thought I was prepared for it but as some of you already knew, I have a very bad tolerance with cold temperature. I once wrote about my problem with anything cold so I'm not going to go there again but alhamdulillah, I survived. That doesn't hinder me from going back there for sure. Might just be more prepared to have extra thick clothes next time, I guess.

It was a whole new experience for us. Camping in a foreign land - especially ones that we have never been to but it was definitely an eye-opening experience for sure. Some sceneries; we purposely didn't take any photos because we were too busy indulging it (more like we totally forgot to) because it was so darn beautiful masha Allah. I don't know how many times I uttered such praises throughout my road trip around South Island. Pretty sure I acquired some of the best views in my life there. I thought I'd be overwhelmed the way I did when I first saw Niagara Falls but this was even more... beyond words. I just pray that my loved ones will get to see and feel the way I did too, okay? Let's get an amiiiiin for that, shall we? Amin amin ya rabbal alamin.

The trip also taught me more about my significant other, and it taught me even more about my Creator. I cannot imagine how would I feel if I were to step my foot on the Holy Land because just going to New Zealand has already moved me to tears. Not going to lie, I went through a spiritual awakening there and that is why, I urge everyone who is reading this to go, please, go and experience the beautiful two islands yourself.

We also managed to tick off one item in our bucket list - to visit the Hobbiton Movie Set and also some other locations of the famous 'Middle Earth'. Love love love and nothing but love for everything. Alhamdulillah for this opportunity, I couldn't even be more grateful.

For a more detailed itinerary, please email or message me privately okay I wouldn't mind sharing it. I'm just kinda bad at describing every each and one of the places that we visited because I don't know how to describe it. If I could show you my heart and my mind for you to translate it, trust me I would. Now I shall pray that the Almighty will grant me another chance to go there again with my parents. More amins please.

Have a lovely day, everyone!
